The
North American Boxing Federation Convention is now set for
arrival in Cancun, Mexico on May 16, 2007 and departure on
May 20, 2007. The site for our 2007 Convention will be the
Riu Palace and Riu Cancun Hotels, which are two five-star
hotels that are side by side on the beach, and looking out
on the Caribbean Sea. These hotels are all-inclusive. Your
rate includes everything-meals at your choice of thirteen
restaurants located in the two hotels; unlimited domestic,
along with a selection of imported alcoholic beverages; tropical
juice cocktails and soft drinks. There are nine bars and a
free in-room mini-bar and liquor dispenser. There is also
free room service for meals.
For
sports and other activities, there is tennis, a gym, sauna,
Jacuzzi, windsurfing, snorkeling, along with scuba diving
lessons in the pool. All of these activities are included
in the room rate.
The
standard rooms in both hotels are the same, with ocean views.
There is satellite and local TV with many English channels.
The rates are $128.80, including taxes for double occupancy,
and $179.20 including tax per night for single room occupancy.
There is a 12% tax on rooms, which is included in this rate.
There are upgrades available, but the standard rooms are very
nice, with either two double beds or a king size bed. All
taxes and gratuities for all services are also included in
your rates.
At
check-in, you will be given a plastic bracelet that will allow
you to use everything at both hotels. Regardless of which
hotel you make your reservation, you will have total access
to all the restaurants, shops, beaches and activities at either
the Riu Palace or the Riu Cancun. Additionally, you will be
given a lock to your safe in the room, and two cards to obtain
beach towels. Don't loose these, as there is a charge of fifty
dollars ($50 USD) to replace them.
Checkout
time is 12:00 noon. In case you have a later flight, there
is a hotel hospitality room in the pool area for your use.
One
very important item is "PASSPORT." In order to travel to Mexico,
you must have a valid passport. There are no exceptions. If
you plan to come to the Convention and do not have a valid
passport-get one now, as the processing time is four to six
weeks.
As
to clothing, there will be no formal attire at any function.
This Convention is at the beach in Mexico. Bring shorts, bathing
suits and lots of sun block. It will be very warm, in the
high 80's, during the day. There is nightly entertainment
at the Riu Palace in the showroom, and is different each night
of the week. Many activities are available, including Spanish
lessons, beach volleyball, lessons in making bracelets, lessons
in dance and water aerobics.
